Lingjie Kong is an associate professor in the Department of Precision Instrument, Tsinghua University. He received his PhD degree in Optical Engineering from Tsinghua University, in 2012. After that, he continued the postdoctoral research at Harvard University, Janelia Research Campus/Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and Purdue University, sequentially. Since 2017, he joined the faculty of Tsinghua University. His research interests include biomedical optics and its applications. Specifically in neurophotonics, he has developed multiple techniques for optical brain interfaces. Besides, he has proposed novel concepts and techniques of optical sensing and intelligent pathology. So far, he has published >60 papers, including those in high-impact journals such as Nature Photonics, Nature Methods, Science Advances, and Nature Machine Intelligence.
