I earned my PhD in 2015, with a dissertation addressing the problem of consciousness in the philosophy of mind and the cognitive sciences. Since then, I have published three books and dozens of articles on the subject in prestigious publishers and journals.
My research areas span different fields within the philosophy of mind and the history and philosophy of the cognitive sciences, with a particular focus on the philosophy of neuroscience and research topics related to the evolution of the nervous system, interoception, consciousness, and its evolutionary emergence.
In the fall of 2023, I completed a three-month research stay at University of Southern California under the supervision of Antonio Damasio. During that stay, I wrote a lengthy article closely related to the content of my contribution to the WSNND-2025.
I am currently a Professor of Psychology at UNIR, actively participating in three research groups and two research projects funded by the Spanish State Research Agency. Over the past four academic years, I taught courses in Logic, Philosophy of Science, and Philosophy of Cognitive Science at Complutense University of Madrid.
